The Polar TRC 100 is a calculator utility which calculates DC series resistance of PCB tracks. You can input data of the length, shape and material type of the track. Output is in Ohms for the described trace. This utility is helpful when series loss has to be taken care of and you need to calculate in fine geometries. Conversion between different types of units can be done. Working with smaller units of Thou or um is possible. While working, you might come across tracks with fine geometries. The TRC 100 is fully capable of dealing with this situation. As it is capable of fine geometries, you can also take care of the series loss problem, usually connected to these type of situations. If you are resolving problems in the power supply field this calculator utility, is quite helpful. Each track is made of a material which has its own particular property of resistance. This property is quantifiable and is shown as a number. In performing different calculations this resistivity of the material can be entered as one of the parameters into the TRC 100. There is also a feature with which you can customize this calculator utility for other materials. |
